A few weeks ago, we wrote that 43-year-old legend Simon Ammann‘s place in the Swiss national team for the Ski Jumping World Cup was not assured. The four-time Olympic champion from 2002 and 2010 seemed to be in trouble at a time when the next generation of skiers was emerging.
Relegated to the FIS Cup during the summer, he has nonetheless regained the confidence of his coaches since, according to Blick based on Swiss Ski federal sources, he has been selected in the Swiss quartet for the inaugural stage in Lillehammer (Norway) scheduled for the end of November. Felix Trunz, Killian Peier and Gregor Deschwanden will also be in the line-up, while Remo Imhof and Juri Kesseli remain on the sidelines.
In less than a month, Simon Ammann will begin his twenty-eighth World Cup campaign. An adventure that began… on 29 December 1997 at the age of 16.
