Ski jumping: Alexander Stoeckl and Poland are already finished
The news came down on Friday that Alexander Stoeckl is no longer the coach of the Polish ski jumping team. The Austrian was sacked last winter by the Norwegian Ski Jumping Association because of conflicts with his athletes, and has now been pushed out again. In the morning, he confirmed his resignation.

The 51-year-old coach will only remain on the Polish bench for a few months. For Dagbladet, he spoke about the tension between himself and ski association president Adam Malysz. In a live interview for TVP, the latter mentioned his dissatisfaction with the Polish team’s results.
I’ve noticed that internal problems have been shared with the media without the people concerned being informed beforehand,” he confides. I can adjust my work or discuss my point of view, but it has to be done face to face.

This lack of communication made it clear to Alexander Stoeckl that he had to go. Reluctantly, but with conviction, he said goodbye to the Polish delegation: “I am resigning as sports director for ski jumping and Nordic combined”. It’s an upheaval that crowns a mediocre season in 2024.
Adam Malysz disappointed with his coach
Adam Malysz wasted no time in publicly commenting onAlexander Stoeckl‘s decision. His critical comments caused a stir in Poland: “I have to be honest, I’m a bit disappointed, I thought Alex would do better.
