10:32. Bernhard Metzler, coach of theAustrian women’s ski jumping team since April 2023, will not be working alongside his athletes for another season. This Friday, the Austrian announced his resignation to the national team management.
At 45, the coach has decided to take a career break to recharge his batteries. “The decision to resign was not an easy one for me. Over the past few weeks, I’ve noticed that I lack the energy to meet the high demands I place on myself,” he confided in a press release from the Austrian FA. This is the right time to make room for new ideas and give the team the opportunity to continue to perform well in the coming season. I’m grateful for the successes we’ve achieved together and I’m sure the team will continue to perform at a very high level.”
