Ski jumping: a look back at the continental and intercontinental cups in Kranj
Austria’s Jonas Schuster (265.3 pts and 109.5/107.5 m) won the continental cup vaulting competition in Kranj (Slovenia) on Sunday. It was a very close competition, with second-placed Maximilian Ortner (265.2 pts and 107/106.5 m) just 0.1 points behind the winner. Norway’s Isak Andreas Langmo (264 pts and 103.5/108.5 m) took third place.
No final for the three Frenchmen: Louis Obersteiner (96.6 pts and 95 m) 41st, Ari Repellin (94.3 pts and 94 m) 44th and Alessandro Batby (91.4 pts and 90 m) 49th.

On Saturday, it was Luca Roth (277 points and 104.5/105.5 metres) who mattered. The German flew over 104 metres on his two jumps. Behind him, Austria’s Jonas Schuster (270.8 pts and 106/110.5 m) took second place thanks to a second attempt over 110 metres. Poland’s Dawid Kubacki (270.2 pts and 109/103.5 m) rounded off the podium.
No French qualified for the final: Louis Obersteiner (114.2 pts and 85.7 m) 38th, Alessandro Batby (111.8 pts and 85.7 m) 41st and Ari Repellin (109.7 pts and 86.1 m) 46th.

On the women’s side, overall leader Julina Kreibich (221.4 pts and 98/102 m) was the strongest on Sunday. Next came Slovenia’s Taja Terbovsek (220.6 pts and 98.5/98 m) and Austria’s Hannah Wiegele (214 pts and 97.5/98 m). The three French competitors finished in the top 30: Mathilde Bacconier (184.8 pts and 90/89.5 m) 17th, Caroline Rochas (181.7 pts and 89.5/90.5 m) 19th and Marie Thomas-Couturaud (154.9 pts and 87.5/82 m) 30th.

The day before, at the end of the morning, the women had already set off from the Kranj ski jump. With two jumps over 100m, Hannah Wiegele (236.1 points and 102/100m) gave her rivals no chance. Behind her, Slovenia’s Taja Terbovsek (230.5 pts and 101/98 m) finished in 2nd place, just ahead of Germany’s Julina Kreibich (224.8 pts and 104.5/95 m). Kreibich’s 104.5 metres was the best jump of Saturday’s competition.

The three French girls were in the final. Mathilde Bacconnier (183.1 pts and 90/92 m) finished 19th and top French finisher, just ahead of Marie Thomas-Couturaud (182.3 pts and 90.5/87.5 m) in 20th place. Caroline Rochas (177.2 pts and 93/87.5 m) was 23rd.
