Ski jumping : new measures still awaiting approval
In recent weeks, the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) has announced new measures in the wake of the Norwegian wetsuit scandal at the World Championships in Trondheim (Norway).
According to Tom Hilde, the Scandinavian nation’s representative on the FIS sub-committee for equipment and development, who was at an extraordinary meeting on Wednesday, a system of cards, with warnings and disqualifications, will be introduced from the next World Cup season. According to the FIS plans, these rules will apply to World Cup races, World Championships, World Ski Flying Championships and World Junior Championships, while for the Milan/Cortina 2026 Olympic Games, any yellow cards will be abolished.

Sandro Pertile,FIS director of ski jumping competitions, explained the situation to SkiJumping.pl.
“On Tuesday, we held a meeting of the FIS sub-committee for the equipment and development of ski jumping. We discussed all the proposals and finalised some of them. We are still working on the final version of the regulations. We must also obtain the approval of the FIS Council at the meeting scheduled for 12 June. For the time being, all the proposals are just hypotheses.
The FIS Council, scheduled for June 12, will also approve the competition calendars for the 2025/2026 season, which were given the green light by the FIS Ski Jumping Commission in May.
