On Saturday morning, the first competition of the Ski Jumping World Cup in Zhangjiakou (China) lasted an eternity. Disrupted by a capricious wind, it finally went to Katharina Schmid.

A consistent performer since the start of the winter, the German confirmed that she is a force to be reckoned with in the overall rankings. With two jumps at 100 and 106 metres, the native ofOberstdorf (Germany) claimed her second success of the winter after her victory on 24 November in Lillehammer (Norway). Behind her, Eirin Maria Kvandal (105 and 94.5 metres) and Nika Prevc (94 and 98 metres) completed the top 3.

Having struggled at the start of the winter, Chaunière’s Joséphine Pagnier (81.5 and 84.5 metres) still hasn’t found the solution and finishes twenty-sixth. Emma Chervet from Chamonix (74 metres), the first girl to compete in the inaugural round, finished thirty-ninth in this Chinese competition.
