Ski jumping: Valentin Foubert scores big again
Valentin Foubert is unstoppable! The Frenchman once again reached the final round in Klingenthal (Germany) with flying colours on Saturday afternoon. Seventh in the first round with a jump of 133.5m, he confirmed his position in the final by resting at 127.5m. Even though he lost a few places, he finished in a fine twelfth place and climbed back up to twelfth in the overall rankings.

His team-mate, Jules Chervet, gained further experience by finishing 46th in the competition.
When one Prevc hides another
Following in the footsteps of his sister Nika Prevc, Domen Prevc also continued his winning ways by immediately taking the lead in the day’s competition. Wearing the yellow jersey, the Slovenian rested at 142.5 m, signing the best jump of the first round, more than 9 points ahead of his nearest rival, Germany’s Philipp Raimund. Behind him, Austrians Jan Hoerl and Stefan Kraft battled for the podium.

Although many jumpers failed to hold their position in the foggy final, Domen Prevc did not falter. He once again set the best mark of the competition, landing at 143m. From another world, the Slovenian won by a wide margin and took a clear lead in the overall rankings.

Behind him, Stefan Kraft made a brilliant return to the podium. The young father finished second, just ahead of Philipp Raimund. Japan’s Ren Nikaido and Ryoyu Kobayashi also made a fine comeback to complete the top 5.

For the Swiss, only Simon Ammann made it through to the final round. The team veteran finished in 27th place , while his team-mates finished 33rd for Gregor Deschwanden, 34th for Sandro Hauswirth and 50th for the returning Killian Peier.
A disappointing performance for the Helvetians, but one that allows Ammann to establish himself as a genuine candidate for a place at the Olympic Games, his 8th in his career if he makes the cut.
