The first men’s qualifying round of the ski jumping world cup weekend in Lake Placid (USA) took place on Saturday evening. This round was dominated by Slovenia’s Domen Prevc (127.5 metres), who won ahead of Markus Mueller(127 metres) and Jan Hoerl (122.5 metres).
Daniel Tschofenig (117.5 metres), the strong man of the moment, was sixth, while springboard record-holder Ryoyu Kobayashi (102 metres), a big surprise, was eliminated with a final ranking of fifty-second.

Courchevel’s Valentin Foubert easily passed the qualifying hurdle with a jump of 110.5 metres. He finished thirty-eighth and will be competing on Saturday.
