Late on Thursday afternoon, the qualifying round of the first women’s competition in the ski jumping world cup in Lake Placid (USA) was taking place in the state of New York.
In this round, Norway’s Eirin Maria Kvandal won with a jump 128 metres long. Just behind her were Nika Prevc (123.5 metres) and Selina Freitag (125 metres). Germany’s Katharina Schmid (106 metres) came a surprising eighteenth.

For the French, Joséphine Pagnier (111 metres), twenty-second, and Emma Chervet (107 metres), twenty-seventh, easily made the cut.
