On Wednesday evening, in the middle of the afternoon, the women’s competition at the world junior ski jumping championships delivered its verdict on the small hill in Lake Placid (USA).
Clearly in the lead after the first run, 17-year-old Norwegian Ingvild Synnoeve Midtskogen (96 and 97 metres) confirmed her position in the final run to take the gold medal by a staggering 32.0 points ahead of her compatriot Ingrid Laate (90 and 94 metres).

With 41.6 points, Slovenia’s Taja Bodlaj (91.5 and 89.5 metres) took bronze just a few lengths ahead of her compatriot Tina Erzar (89.5 and 90 metres), the title holder.
Ingvild Synnoeve Midtskogen succeeds not only the Slovenian, but also Alexandria Loutitt, Nika Prevc, Thea Minyan Bjoerseth and Marita Kramer, all of whom have won the prestigious World Junior title since 2020.
