The second women’s ski jumping World Cup competition in Lillehammer (Norway) took place in snowy conditions on Sunday. In these difficult conditions, it was Germany’s Katharina Schmid (133.5 and 123 metres) who came out on top.
On the podium, she beat her compatriot Selina Freitag (130 and 129 metres) and Austrian Lisa Eder (127 and 128 metres) to take the yellow bib from Nika Prevc (121 and 113 metres), who was only eleventh.
Norway’s Ingvild Synnoeve Midtskogen (127.5 and 125.5 metres), not yet 17, put in a fantastic performance to finish fifth ahead of Anna Odine Stroem (126 and 126.5 metres), Jacqueline Seifriedsberger (121 and 129 metres) and Eva Pinkelnig (121 and 117.5 metres).
Earlier in the morning, Les Bleues had a nightmare qualifying session, with Joséphine Pagnier disqualified for a non-conforming combination and Emma Chervet in fifty-third place (92.5 metres).
