The Norwegian men’s ski jumping team could be leaving the World Cup at the end of this weekend in Vikersund (Norway). The team’s boss, Jan-Erik Aalbu, told Nettavisen on Sunday.
Since the big hill competition at the World Championships in Trondheim (Norway), five of its jumpers have been suspended by the International Ski Federation. They are Marius Lindvik, Johann Andre Forfang, Robert Johansson, Robin Pedersen and Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal.
“Our best jumpers are not allowed to compete”, he said. He doesn’t want to expose the others to questions from journalists after the numerous revelations that have appeared in the press over the past week.
The Nordic country will therefore not be present in Lahti (Finland) or Planica (Slovenia). The decision will be taken in the coming days.
The girls, meanwhile, will continue competing.
