09:16. In April 2024, Peter Prevc will bring his successful and legendary World Cup ski jumping career to an end. The Slovenian has kept a low profile for over a year , despite making a few appearances on the edge of the jumps last winter, but he has been approached by the Slovenian national team in recent weeks.
Present in Vikersund (Norway) last March, the former jumper who won the crystal globe in 2016 has been offered a position with his former team as head of equipment and development. After a brief period of reflection, the 32-year-old was quick to agree.
“I think I can make a good link between the athletes and the manufacturers. The jumper uses his words and feelings to express what annoys him about his equipment and what he would like to improve. My job is to translate that to the manufacturers,” he explains to RTV SLO a month after his debut. I’ve been in this business for a long time and I know the people involved in the sport very well. I know how they work.
