Ski jumping: first Red Bull Target Jumping event in Zakopane
This Saturday in Zakopane (Poland), ski jumping became a spectacle. A special event took place on the HS140 ski jump in Poland: the Red Bull Target Jumping.

Divided into five teams of four members, led by five ski jumping legends, the athletes had the objective of reaching the distance of 1000 metres with the sum of the two laps of the four jumpers. No style points, no landing marks, no compensations for the wind and the starting gate. The only difference was the distance.
Theteam led by Martin Schmitt and comprising Dawid Kubacki, Stephan Embacher, Anze Lanisek and Andreas Wellinger was the one that jumped with the greatest precision, managing to reach 1000 metres perfectly with the sum of all its jumps.Andreas Goldberger ‘s team with Courchevellois Valentin Foubert, Timi Zajc, Jacob Wolny and Gregor Deschwanden were just as precise, but had to settle for second place because the precision of their individual jumps was inferior to that of Schmitt’s team.

Third place on the podium went to the quartet led by Thomas Morgenstern, protagonist of a total test of 999 metres, just 1 metre from the goal. This team was made up of Kacper Tomasiak, Alexander Zniszczol, World Cup winner Daniel Tschofenig andAlex Insam.Adam Malysz ‘s team followed in fourth place and Gregor Schlierenzauer ‘s team in fifth.

It should be noted that in this competition Domen Prevc jumped 150.5 metres, longer than the current springboard record held by Yukiya Sato at 147 metres. As the competition was not official, this record will not be certified.
