12:32. A timely performance. After a very difficult start to the winter and a break in December to refocus on her training, French ski jumper Joséphine Pagnier is coming into her own.
With less than three weeks to go before the start of the 2026 Olympics, she put in a magnificent performance on Tuesday in Zao (Japan), placing sixth in the first competition on the programme. This result, achieved with jumps of 88 and 94 metres, is quite simply her best World Cup result since February 2024.
At home, Japan’s Nozomi Maruyama (101 and 92.5 metres) won by more than 15 points over Austria’s Lisa Eder (94.5 and 93.5 metres) and Germany’s Selina Freitag (88 and 97.5 metres), while Slovenia’s Nika Prevc (84.5 and 102 metres) was fourth.
Emma Chervet (81 and 72.5 metres), in thirtieth place, won her first final heat of the season.
