On 14 March, on the ski jump in Vikersund (Norway), Nika Prevc broke the women’s ski jumping world record with a jump of 236 metres during training. And in the last few days, there has also been some good news for the female World Cup jumpers.

Next winter, the top fifteen athletes in the overall ranking could well take part in the legendary ski flying competition in Planica, Slovenia. Meeting this weekend in Prague (Czech Republic), a number of FIS officials sitting on the organising sub-committee proposed including this new event on the calendar for next year.
A move that seems to be well on the way, and which must now be approved by the International Ski and Snowboard Federation’s main commission, as revealed by our colleagues at Skijumping.pl. It should also be noted that the start list for the Vikersund event should be extended to 30 athletes.
