Late on Friday afternoon, the ski jumping world cup in Titisee-Neustadt (Germany) kicked off with a Super Team event. In this format, contested by teams of two over three runs, it was the Germans Andreas Wellinger (138.5 and twice 137 metres) and Pius Paschke (143.5, 140 and 142.5 metres) who came out on top.
In front of their home crowd, they beat Austria’s Daniel Tschofenig and Jan Hoerl and Norway’s Halvor Egner Granerud and Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal.
The Swiss team of Killian Peier and Gregor Deschwanden took an excellent fourth place, while France’s Jules Chervet and Valentin Foubert finished thirteenth, having been eliminated at the end of the first run.
