Ski jumping: Norway on top of the world
Never before had Norway become world champions in team ski jumping. In the first three world events in this format, the Norwegian girls had always won a fine bronze medal by way of consolation.
On Saturday afternoon, the Norwegian women’s team put an end to their curse… in the year they were least expected. The Scandinavians have been hit by several serious injuries in recent weeks, including Silje Opseth, Thea Minyan Bjoerseth and Kjersti Græsli.

In the end, it was a quartet made up of Anna Odine Stroem, Ingvild Synnoeve Midtskogen, Heidi Dyhre Traaserud and Eirin Maria Kvandal that crowned Norway world champions. In a perfect day for the host country , where Johannes Hoesflot Klæbo and Jarl Magnus Riiber also won world gold, Norway made it three wins out of three with the success of its female jumpers.

Leading the competition from start to finish in front of their home crowd, the Kingdom’s jumpers won by 19.4 points over Austria(Lisa Eder, Julia Muehlbacher, Jacqueline Seifriedsberger, Eva Pinkelnig) and 58.0 points over Germany(Juliane Seyfarth, Katharina Schmid, Agnes Reisch, Selina Freitag).
