Biathlon: no Olympic season for Tina Erzar
Slovenian ski jumper Tina Erzar, 17, broke the bad news on Tuesday morning in a lengthy post on Instagram. Junior world champion in 2024 in Planica (Slovenia), the woman who represents the future of the discipline in the land of Triglav is indeed suffering from a bone tumour known as an aneurysmal bone cyst.
“I had a huge pain in my neck, but it wouldn’t go away, even with rest, which was strange. So we decided to have an MRI and a few days later we received the results, then in the following days I had to have further tests and a biopsy… On 28 August we got the results: I had an aneurysmal bone cyst in my neck. That day, I was broken in two… I realised that I would miss the Olympic Games (my dream)… I was afraid of what lay ahead and I needed time to mentally rebuild myself”, she wrote at the outset.

Tina Erzar explains that she began her treatment a month ago. “Fortunately, it doesn’t hurt! It’s going to take a year, but if it works, I’ll be the luckiest child in the world,” she continues. And it will be the greatest victory of my life so far! Let’s believe and pray that everything goes well!
“I miss jumping more than anything, and I’d do anything to be back on the springboard, but for now it’s just a wish… But I promise that if I get the green light, I’ll be back! I’ll be representing Slovenia and showing just how strong I am,” concludes the young SSK Ihan champion, who will be supporting her compatriots on television throughout the season.
