Association des internationaux du ski français: Maurice Manificat inducted
Last Saturday, the Association des internationaux du ski français (AISF ), chaired by former alpine skier Florence Masnada, organised its traditional day of exchanges at the FFS headquarters, ending with a convivial meal. The event brought together more than 100 former French champions, including Maurice Manificat, who joined the association just a few months after retiring from the sport.
“Historically, the AISF was created by alpine skiers who had been ousted from the French team in the 1960s, the Haut-Savoyard tells Nordic Magazine. It’s a sort of club for athletes with an international record who have competed in the World Championships or Olympic Games.” This is a mandatory condition for membership.

“The AISF has a number of aims, but above all it’s about sharing experience, because once a year we get together with athletes from all the French ski disciplines, says Maurice Manificat. It was a very friendly and interesting way of forging links and making contact between people in the snow. In short, we’re the veterans of the ski world cups!”
Especially as the previous evening in Le Grand-Bornand (Haute-Savoie), former members of the French cross-country skiing team from the 2004/2014 era had gathered for dinner.
A great bunch at the AISF
In addition, four representatives of the Association des internationaux du ski français sit on the FFS to defend the interests of skiers.

Among those taking part in the AISF 2024 Day were Sylvain Guillaume, Anaïs Bescond, Henri Duvillard, Jean-Marc Gaillard, Christophe Perrillat, Tessa Worley, Marie Bochet, Gauthier De Tessières, Alizée Baron, Nastasia Noens, Taïna Barioz, Marion Rolland, Margot Bailet, Marie Martinod, Robin Duvillard, Julie Carraz-Collin, Marie Marchand-Arvier and Alexandre Rousselet.
“It’s for all generations and an opportunity to pay tribute to those who have passed away,” concludes Maurice Manificat.
