Virtus cross-country skiing nine Frenchmen at the Bessans Worlds
With just a few weeks to go until the eagerly-awaited Virtus cross-country skiing world championships in Bessans (Savoie) from 8 to 14 March, the Fédération française du sport adapté (FFSA ) has approved the French selection.
After various selection races during the first part of the winter, nine riders will be defending the French colours on the Bessan tracks. Léa Thiroux, Manon Petitnicolas, Gaël Salomon, Yann Guebey, Titouan Dubois, Aaron Portner and Joseph Garin in category ii1 (intellectual disabilities), Clément Colomby in category ii2 (Down’s syndrome) and Clément Richard in category ii3 (autism).

The week’s programme includes classic individual races, classic sprints, skating mass-starts and relays.

- 9.30 am: Individual men’s 10 km CT
- 11.00am: individual women’s 5 km CT
Tuesday 11th March
- 9.30am: CT men’s and women’s sprint qualifiers
- 10.15am: Men’s CT sprint finals
- 11:00: Women’s CT sprint finals
Wednesday 12 March
- 9.00am: Men’s 3×2.5km relay
- 10.45am: women’s 2×2.5km relay
Thursday 13 March
- 9.00am: Men’s 15km FT mass-starts
- 11.00am: Women’s 10km FT mass-starts
