Virtus World Nordic Skiing Championships: France wins four medals in the classic sprints at the Bessans World Championships
On Tuesday, the day after the opening classic individual races, the Virtus World Nordic Skiing Championships in Bessans (Savoie ) included classic sprints on the programme.
On the Carreley slopes, the French were once again on top form. First, in the ii1s (intellectual disabilities), Titouan Dubois, second in the qualifying round, took a fine bronze medal for the second day in a row. Russians Ivan Volegov and Aleksandr Sorokin did the double ahead of him.

Joseph Garin took fifth place in the final, while Aaron Portner was forced out at the semi-final stage and Gaël Salomon, who suffered a back injury, did not take part in the final stages. Second overall in the ii1 final, Clément Richard was crowned world champion in ii3 (autism).

In the same ii1 category, but in the women’s category, Manon Petitnicolas won the bronze medal behind the Russians Irina Guber, who won the title, and Alina Kashevarova. Léa Thiroux was fifth.

Finally, in the ii2 (Down’s Syndrome) category, France’s Clément Colomby won his second gold medal in a row. He beat the Italians Tobia Maria Kostner and Mattia Oltolina in the final.
